My wife and I give our highest recommendation to our friend Fausto. We were fortunate enough to meet Fausto during a trip to Isla Mujeres about seven years ago. Now we make sure to book one or two excursions with him every trip. We have recommended him to several friends and everyone is always very satisfied with Captain Fausto since he is friendly, knowledgeable and just one of those special people you only meet every once in a while. Fausto has taken us out snorkeling several times, to Isla Contoy and for a swim with the whale sharks! Next time we are in Isla Mujeres I hope to finally get out to do some serious fishing. I can tell you that nobody knows the waters around Isla Mujeres better than Fausto! I fished with Fausto on xmas day 03. I will never forget that day. He is as entense a fisherman that I have ever met. It made my xmas the best ever. He is one of a kind. I have since fished with him many times. He never quits trying and we have always caught fish. Even on slow days, we caught fish. On good days, yours arms just ache from hooking up so many fish. He really knows his stuff and he knows the waters like no other. I agree that you can try who you want, but my money is on the Mahache and Capt. Fausto.
